Some people use depression as a creative weapon. I however, find it hard to write in those times. My happiest moments in life have been the times where I've been most creative. The creativity is coming back and it's exciting; it really is. I've made some very interesting music and artwork and it's been opening the floodgates of creation. That along with, not playing video games and reading a whole lot more.
I was watching an interview with one of my favorite singers the other day; he reminds me of myself. He said that he can't just sit down and expect to have something to write; it comes in spurts. He also expressed, when asked about writer's block, that he's been in the game long enough to know it's not really gone. The funny thing is, I felt that way. I really thought, I've written the best I could and had nothing else to offer; but, like I said, "the floodgates of creation" are opening wider and wider and I have now what I think is a pretty good book idea.
Now, I've written a book before, but I haven't been published. My first book is pure genius but I'm not sure it's entirely marketable right now. One day I want to work on that title more and it's sequels, prequel, spin-offs; whatever, but this new idea is entirely different, and I think it's very marketable too. It came to me at work today, while I was listening to "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. I'm not ready to reveal it's plot in heavy detail but it's exciting for sure. I have created the basic layout of the story in my head and have started to write out a act-by-act plan of the book using a little website that may interest some.
